The handmade Kaiyo bowls are wabi-sabi defined. Wabi-Sabi is sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" in nature. It is prevalent throughout all forms of Japanese art. Each bowl is unique and characterized by a crisp white inner glaze, sandy, unglazed outer texture, and a subtle glazed rim detail. Sculptural in form, they’re both decorative and functional.
